The loss drops the Purple Raiders to 3-3 on the season while Waynesburg advances to 3-3-2. A goal by Chad Palucka at the 18:32 mark gave Waynesburg the 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Senior Colin Combs gave the Purple Raiders (1-1) an early 1-0 lead as he scored off a feed from sophomore Kevin Blackley in the fourth minute. Blackley extended the Mount Union lead with an unassisted goal in the 27th minute and the Raiders took a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Purple Raiders offense took 13 shots on the night but was unable to capitalize against the strong Yeomen defense.
