Mount Union’s men’s soccer team lost to Otterbein 1-0 Saturday afternoon in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup at Clements Field. The Purple Raiders drop to 9-8 overall and 4-3 in the OAC as the Cardinals improve to 8-8 overall and 3-4 in the OAC. Mount Union senior Thomas Beck had his second career hat trick, but the men’s soccer team saw its win streak stopped at two games with a 6-3 Ohio Athletic Conference loss Tuesday at John Carroll. It was the second career hat trick for Beck, who has scored seven goals in the Purple Raiders last three games.  His first career hat trick was also against John Carroll in a 3-3 OAC Tournament game tie in 2010 which the Blue Streaks advanced 5-4 on penalty

Senior Thomas Beck’s two goals led Mount Union’s men’s soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Wilmington on Saturday night in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup. Mount Union improves to 7-6-0, 2-1-0 in the OAC, while Wilmington falls to 4-9-1 overall and 1-2-0 in OAC action. The Purple Raiders were unable to generate any shots in the first half of action as Wilmington outshot the Raiders 7-0 in the first half. It wasn’t until the 57th minute when Beck would bury the ball unassisted.

Junior Coty Lipply’s late goal lifted the Mount Union men’s soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Marietta, in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Wednesday. The Purple Raiders improve to 6-6-0, 1-1-0 in OAC action, while Marietta falls to 3-8-0 overall and 0-2 in the OAC. The Mount Union men’s soccer fell to Waynesburg (Pa.) College, 7-2 Saturday afternoon at John F. Wiley Stadium. With the loss the Purple Raiders fall to 5-5, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 5-1-1. Raiders Nic Nee (McMurray, Pa./ Peters Township) and Coty Lipply (Rootstown/Southeast) chipped in with late goals in the loss for Mount Union. The Mount Union women’s soccer team fell in overtime by a 1-0 score to Grove City (PA) College on Wednesday afternoon in Grove City. The Purple Raiders are now 6-2-1 on the season, while the Wolverines improve to 3-4-1. After two 45 minute halves of scoreless action, it would be Sarah Cessar who would score in the 99th minute to push Grove City over Mount Union.
