Mount Union’s women’s soccer team was handed their first loss as they fell 2-1 at Penn State-Behrend Tuesday night. Sam Pace put the Lions up 1-0 in the 48th minute off a breakaway, low shot and beat goalkeeper Maria Favorite in the net. Junior Gina Wall tied the game at one when she shot the ball into the upper left corner of the net in the 56th minute. The Mount Union women’s soccer team ended Saturday evening’s game against tournament host Fredonia State (N.Y.) in a draw. The Purple Raiders and the Blue Devils are now 1-1-1 all-time in series play against each other. Two Purple Raiders chipped in goals as the Mount Union women’s soccer team defeated Oberlin 3-0 on Friday afternoon at Bethany (W.Va.) College’s opening weekend tournament.
