The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Sioux Falls Thunder FC (Sioux Falls, SD) has returned to the league with new ownership. The club will now be led by Daniel Haggerty, who will serve as both owner and general manager. Haggerty, who resides in Freeman, SD, has coached high school soccer for 19 years, 11 in South Dakota and eight in Ohio. He played four years and earned NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honors at Goshen College
When the COVID-19 pandemic closed down swaths of the American economy, sports were shut down at all levels. Minneapolis City SC, a club based in south side of the city that plays in the NPSL, found themselves without a season. The front office, staffed entirely by volunteers, went on with their day jobs. On Sirius XM FC on September 17th, the NPSL announced that they would be making the jump into a two-season system. The summer season will remain in place and, as NPSL Chairman Kenny Farrell said, will take precedent when looking at any possible tough decisions, but there will be a spring/fall season as well.
