Joining Mutiny will be defenders Ella Stephan and Ciara McCormack, defender/midfielder Kelsey Hood, midfielder Kate McCarthy and forward Carrie Patterson. The five bring a wealth of college, national and international experience to the club as New England prepares for the inaugural Elite League season. The Boston Breakers continue to build their 2012 WPSL Elite League roster, adding Australian internationals Kyah Simon and Tameka Butt and U.S. U-23 defender Bianca D’Agostino. Simon, a striker, and midfielder Butt will soon be heading to Boston to prepare for the 2012 WPSL Elite League season. The two 20-year-old Australian internationals play alongside each other on the Westfield Matildas, Australia’s Women’s National Team. This past season in the Westfield W-League, Butt helped lead the Brisbane Roar to the Grand Final.

The Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) has announced that the Maryland Capitols FC will become one of the newest teams in the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) when they take to the pitch for the 2012 season. The Maryland Capitols FC will play at the Prince Georges Sports Complex in Landover, Maryland, and will be the second WPSL team in the state, along with ASA Chesapeake Charge which will move to the new WPSL Elite League. The team looks to establish
2012 has been good for the Crew so far. A great draft, strong South American signings, some progress in the Homegrown Player department, and now a multi-million dollar jersey sponsor. Add in an aggressive season ticket campaign and the pursuit of a stadium naming rights agreement and it’s an A+ grade for all involved. If the 2012 season goes this well, the Crew will hoisting the MLS Cup this fall.
With the WPS suspending play for 2012, the future of women’s soccer is uncertain.
