Schelotto was the clear star of MLS Week 13. His performance against Chivas USA was not only amazing, but it set the tone for the rest of the season. A well deserved honor for a classy individual and a first-class organization.
The trade of Pat Noonan to the Rapids brings back some old rumors. The Crew now have a little breathing room regarding cap space. Will Palermo finally come to MLS to be reunited with Guillermo Barros Schelotto? We will know soon as his contract expires June 30. It sounds like he might be interested. Reputable sources like Sports Illustrated and Soccer America have discussed it. I hope the league takes notice and brings another legend to America. Imagine David Beckham facing off
The City Stars received some devestating news this week with the resignation of GM Mark Geissbauer. Geissbauer was always visible at home matches as he greeted fans that soon became friends. Geissbauer was recognized several times for his work in the front office, but was also active in community service in the Cleveland area and in Mozambique as well. The city doesn’t shine as much when we lose someone
The 0-2-3 start for the Columbus Crew is not a reason for panic. This is essentially the same Crew team that won the MLS Cup that season. Naysayers may think this is the end of the season for Columbus, but that is not the case. We have only seen 5 games and the season is a very long one. This is a highly talented team with a potential to achieve greatness once again. Join us
