Timeline for End of Season Awards Announced

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce an extensive range of end of season awards to cap off the 2016 season. Awards will be voted on by all stakeholders including teams, fans, supporters, and media.  The following is a timeline of award announcements along with a brief description of each: Thursday, July 28th – The PUMA Golden Boot will be awarded to the NPSL’s top goalscorer.  Only goals scored in the regular season will be used to determine the winner.

Albion SC Pros defeated SoCal SC 3-1 in penalty kicks after a 1-1 draw in the Southwest Conference NPSL playoffs Saturday night. Albion finished their first year in the NPSL with an undefeated regular season record of 8-0-4, placing them first in their conference. This playoff victory however, did not come very easily for them. While Albion completely controlled the first half of the match, they were unable to find themselves a goal. On Saturday, July 9, the Charlotte Independence faced off against the Wilmington Hammerheads. The Independence came to the Ramblewood Soccer Complex to face their rivals, but were not able to rise up to the challenge. The match began slowly for both teams, who found it difficult surpass each other’s defense.
