Two Classics from Wolverine Studios

Editor December 20, 2018

Everyone knows that EA Sports, Konami, and Sega make great games, but there are more companies that deserve to be household names.  Wolverine Studios certainly deserves more attention and exposure thanks to a wide array of games that improve and grow each and every year.

Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 2019 and Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2019 are two enjoyable titles that were built from a great series offered by Wolverine.

Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 2019 offers plenty of options, including challenge, multiplayer, and sandbox modes.  Challenge forces you to meet the demands of ownership, while sandbox is a really unique choice that allows you to change teams at any time.  Multiplayer allows you to do the obvious, playing with other people, via hotseat style or over the Internet.  This basketball title allows for full customization from start to finish.  You can create leagues and teams the way you want in addition to just about everything else.   You can control as much or as little as you want.  There’s lots to do in this one: scouting, strategy, drafting, free agency, salary cap management, and the list goes on and on.

Draft Day Sports: Pro Basketball 2019 even offers a developmental league (aka the G League) that brings the sport to even more cities.  Managing individual games is extremely fun as you tweak lineups, make substitutions, take timeouts, and build a strategy and react to changes in the game.

Draft Day Sports: Pro Football 2019 is another great title.  Three modes are available: career, online, and sandbox.  This one allows you to take control of a league and team of your choice.  Do you want a league that resembles the NFL or CFL or something more historic like the USFL, AFL, or WLAF? Do you want to bring a pro team to your hometown? What size of roster is best? It’s completely up to you.  At the team level you handle everything from the draft, depth chart, strategy, trades, and free agency to scouting, training, and playcalling.

Overall these games offer incredible ways to spend your free time.  The possibilities are truly endless.  This pair could easily last you until next year’s edition comes out; they are that expansive and engrossing.  Kudos to our friends at Wolverine Studios!
