Mount Union blanks Geneva 3-0 Saturday at Beaver Falls, Pa.
The Purple Raiders advance to 7-2 while Geneva falls to 1-8 on the season.
Mount Union got on the board early when junior Kelsey Malenic scored two minutes into the game off a cross from Gina Wall. Malenic’s goal would be the only goal of the first half.
Freshman Amy Bobonik added to the score when she found the back of the net at the 57:56 mark making it 2-0 in the second half.
Junior Megan Werner advanced the score to 3-0 when she finished a corner kick by Carolyn Balzano at the 84:58 mark. Mount Union outshot Geneva 28-4.
Earning the shutout for the Raiders was senior goalkeeper Maria Favorite making four saves and finishing her fourth shutout on the season.
