Editor October 24, 2015

Sophomore Amy Bobonik scored the game winner in overtime off of a corner from junior Carolyn Balzano as Mount Union defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wilmington 3-2 on Saturday night.

Wilmington (8-7, 2-4-1) struck first in the 23rd minute of the match as Hannah Greaney found the back of the net on a free kick to put the Fightin’ Quakers up 1-0.

Mount Union (8-8, 4-3) answered in the 66th minute as Balzano snuck a shot past the goalkeeper to tie the game up at 1-1.

The Purple Raiders went on to take the lead in the 81st minute as Balzano scored her second goal of the game to put Mount Union on top 2-1.

The Quakers would come back with an equalizer just five minutes later as Erika Good scored on a 25 yard free kick to tie the game up at 2-2.

Mount Union continues OAC play as the Purple Raiders next travel to John Carroll on Saturday, October 27 at 7 pm.
