Mount Union’s women’s soccer team scored a 2-0 shutout over Grove City Wednesday at Mount Union Stadium.
The Purple Raiders advance to 6-2 with the victory while Grove City falls to 1-6-1.
Neither team would score until the 32nd minute of the second half when sophomore Taylor Lanese found the back of the net from 20 yards out.
Mount Union would score again at the 74:07 mark when senior Nicole Moldovan scored off a through ball from freshman Katie Goedecke.
In the net for the Raiders, earning her third shutout of the season, was senior goalkeeper Maria Favorite posting 5 saves on the night.
Mount Union travels to Beaver Falls, Pa. to take on Geneva, Saturday Sept. 27 at 2 pm.
