Mount Union’s women’s soccer team fell behind 3-1 in the first half on its way to a 4-1 defeat to Allegheny on Saturday in Meadville, Pa. Allegheny won its fifth straight and improved to 5-2 on the season while the Purple Raiders stand at 3-2 overall after the loss.
Niki Augustine struck first for the Gators scoring in the 12th minute of play.
Senior Gina Wall scored for the Purple Raiders on a through ball from Nicole Moldovan at the 20:17 mark tying the game 1-1.
Allegheny tallied two more goals leading to a 3-1 first half. The Gators, which out-shot Mount Union 29-3 for the game, scored once more in the second half for the 4-1 final.
Mount Union looks to bounce back as they take on Bluffton Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 5 pm at Mount Union Stadium.
