Mount Union’s women’s soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss in an Ohio Athletic Conference match against Ohio Northern.
The Purple Raiders fall to 8-4-0, 1-2 in the OAC while Ohio Northern moves to 6-5-1, 2-1 in the OAC.
Ohio Northern scored first in the game when Shelby Stevens placed a crossed ball in the back of the net giving the Polar Bears the 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Another goal for the Polar Bears in the second half would lead to the 2-0 final score.
Ohio Northern outshot Mount Union 22-5 with senior goalkeeper Maria Favorite making nine saves. Mount Union next travels to Berea Wednesday, Oct. 15 to take on Baldwin Wallace in an OAC matchup.
