The Mount Union women’s soccer team fell to Ohio Athletic Conference Opponent Ohio Northern 2-1 on Saturday night.
The Polar Bears scored the go ahead goal in the 85th minute as Missy Ward found the back of the net on a shot just inside the box off of an assist from Shelby Stephens to give Ohio Northern a 2-1 lead.
Ohio Northern (7-5-1, 3-0) struck first just two minutes into the game when Michaela Gutierrez netted the first goal of the game to put the Polar Bears up 1-0.
Mount Union (5-7, 1-2) tied it up 1-1 in the 34th minute when senior Kelsey Malenic settled a ball from junior Carolyn Balzano and put it into the lower right corner.
Mount Union next host Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday, October 13 at 7 pm.
