Crew, Dynamo Draw in Saturday Tilt

Home/U.S. Soccer Leagues/MLS/Columbus Crew SC/Crew, Dynamo Draw in Saturday Tilt

The Columbus Crew (9-9-10, 37 points) found a pair of second-half goals to erase a two-tally deficit en route to a 2-2 draw against the Houston Dynamo (9-13-5, 32 points) at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday, September 13.

An Aaron Schoenfeld own goal and a Giles Barnes tally gave the Dynamo a 2-0 lead at the break. In the second half, Wil Trapp scored his first career MLS goal to halve the Houston lead, while Ethan Finlay headed home an equalizer in the 54th minute that stood up as enough to secure one point for the Crew.

Both goals were assisted by Waylon Francis, who notched his fifth and sixth helpers of the campaign and is now tied with Federico Higuain for the club lead in assists in 2014. The draw keeps the Crew in MLS Cup Playoff position, as the Black & Gold currently sit in the fifth and final spot in the Eastern Conference with six matches remaining.

The Crew returns home to face the New England Revolution on Saturday, September 20 (7:30 p.m. ET, Time Warner Cable SportsChannel).
