“This award means a lot to me,” Dogbey commented. “I am humbled and honored to win the NPSL National Player of the Week.  I would like to thank the Rhode Island Reds and my teammates for making this possible.”

Dogbey tallied five goals and two assists in two matches against Hartford City FC and New York Athletic Club this week.

“I am delighted for Fabrice that he has been recognized for an excellent week,” Rhode Island Reds FC Chairman Kabba Joof added. “Fabrice is an intelligent, physically gifted player that has been an integral part of our offense in the past five years. His attitude, work rate, and professionalism will help him in his desire to play at the next level.”

The Togo native graduated from Hope High School (Providence, RI) in 2014, earning Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year, All-New England, All-State, and All-Academic honors.  He was recruited by a number of programs in New England and decided to attend Rhode Island College.  He has become a prolific scorer for the Anchormen, registering 46 goals in 73 appearances.  He has won a number of major collegiate awards, including First Team All-New England, First Team All-Little East Conference, Second Team All-Region, Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

“Since the first day, I saw Fabrice I knew he was the real deal,” Rhode Island Reds FC Head Coach Mario Pereira concluded. “He has met all my expectations and more.  He has the physical ability and mental toughness to hold up defenders and allow our midfielders to come up and be part of the attack, he has been instrumental in our offense the three years I have been the head coach of the Reds.  He deserved this award because he has been playing fantastic the past four games.”

He has been with the Reds since 2014 and has scored 10 goals this season with a total of 25 career goals in league play.

The winner of this national honor is determined by a vote of media members from across the country.  It is awarded every week during the regular season.
