The Mount Union men’s soccer team suffered their first loss of the 2014 season to the Yeomen of Oberlin College 4-0 on Saturday evening.

The Purple Raiders offense took 13 shots on the night but was unable to capitalize against the strong Yeomen defense. In the final minutes of the first half, senior Jack Weber made a threat at the net but the Yeomens keeper Oidie Kuijpers was there to make the stop.

Sophomore Kevin Blackley had a look at the net in the final minutes of the game but the shot was wide.

Sophomore Dylan Lias got the start for the Raiders as he faced eight shots on goal and had four saves on the night.

The Purple Raiders (0-1) look to bounce back next weekend (Sept. 6-7) when they travel to Franklin (Ind.) for the Daniel Schuetz Community Classic. They open against Franklin (Ind.) at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 6.
