The Dayton Dutch Lions FC Women finally got it right, taking the second game in a weekend series, in a home match against the Charlotte Lady Eagles with a 1-0 scoreline.

The game’s lone goal came from Dayton’s Rose Lavelle in the 42nd minute.  This was the Dutch Lions’ second match against Charlotte in as many days, losing a 4-3 heartbreaker to the Lady Eagles on Sunday.

Dayton Dutch Lions head coach Gavin MacLeod was much happier with Monday’s result.

“I thought the girls came in today and played a lot better, a lot sharper.  The other team likes to try and counter you quite fast and I think we were able to contain better and get in behind them quite a lot today. Overall, the team effort was much, much better.”

The Dayton Dutch Lions FC Women (1-2-0) will have another home match at DOC Stadium as they welcome the Atlanta Silverbacks (0-2-0) on Sunday, June 1 at 4:30 pm.
