The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are happy to announce that Gavin Macleod will be returning as their head coach for the 2015 W-League season. MacLeod will be assisted by Ian Richardson, also returning from the 2014 season.
MacLeod and Richardson led the Dayton Dutch Lions FC Women’s team to the fourth place in the Southeastern Conference in 2014, finishing the season with a 3-7-0 record.
“Bringing Gavin and Ian back for the 2015 season is important for the consistency of our Women’s program,” Technical Director Sid van Druenen said. “With one year of experience they know what to expect and can prepare better for what is coming, as the 2015 season will, again, be a very competitive one.”
“I am very happy to return for the 2015 W-League season and the challenge of our newly aligned conference,” Macleod said. “ We will be looking to get into the playoffs, while continuing to provide a quality training environment for the best players in the country to prepare for their college season or for advancement to the professional level. The club has put some excellent things in place which will help us push on this season and I am looking forward to getting to work with the players when they arrive this summer.”
The Dayton Dutch Lions FC Women’s team will again compete in the Southeastern Conference together with the Atlanta Silverbacks, Braddock Road Stars Elite, Carolina Elite Cobras, Charlotte Lady Eagles, and the Washington Spirit Reserves. The first game for the Lions will be at home on May 15th against the Braddock Road Stars Elite.
