I’m writing to you from the air. I am currently somewhere between New York’s JFK Airport and LAX. First things first, I never check my boots. They travel with me.

Anyways, today went by so quickly and it entire from being surreal that I’m moving to New Zealand to now being SO REAL. I received so many texts this morning from friends and family. Once again, I’m the first person in my circle to do what I am doing. I’m so grateful for this opportunity to play for Waitakere United. I woke up this morning at 6:00 am to an email from the head coach with all the info about the upcoming season. Nothing could have made it more realistic than that. The day flew by and I got to the airport for 2:30 pm EST.

I didn’t say “good-byes,” only “see you laters” to my parents. Funny thing is I left my mom at the car with my dad, but guess who found me before I went through security check? I love her. My mom is my absolute best friend. I’m going to miss my family, friends, and everything I was used to, but there’s so much opportunity and things to look forward to in New Zealand. I’ve got this gut feeling with all the emotions mixed like the stew chicken I had as my last home cooked meal last night. Anyways, that’s all for now.

Talk to you when I’m with the Kiwis!
