Hoggarth named ISN Coach of the Year at NSCAA Convention

Home/AFC Cleveland, Columbus Crew SC, NPSL/Hoggarth named ISN Coach of the Year at NSCAA Convention

International Soccer Network, LLC (ISN) is proud to announce Andrew Hoggarth as the 2012 ISN Coach of the Year Presented by Korrio.

Hoggarth is the current manager of AFC Cleveland and the head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Thiel College of Greenville, PA.

“Andy is a model coach that inspires others to be great on and off the pitch,” ISN Editor Gary L. Moody Jr. stated. “I can’t think of a better candidate for this award. He has done things the right way at every level.”

With Hoggarth at the helm of the Cleveland NPSL side in 2012, the Royals won the Great Lakes Conference Championship and the Rust Belt Cup as an expansion team.  The Northumbria University graduate has made a big impact on the careers of his players, helping them develop skills to make it at the next level.

He also helped build Thiel into a competitive D-III soccer program on both the men’s and women’s sides.  Thanks to Hoggarth’s vision and leadership, the Tomcats are now perennial contenders in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

The Stockton on Tees, England native also spent time with former EPL side Middlesbrough FC, Preston North End FC, and later Shenandoah University. Hoggarth is also a prominent youth coach, having been involved with camps, clinics, and clubs across Ohio and Pennsylvania.

His playing career included stints with several English clubs, including Whitley Bay FC, a team that won the FA Vase in 2002.

The diversity of his experience as a player and coach, along with his reputation as a trendsetting tactician, made him the perfect choice for the first-ever ISN Coach of the Year award.  This honor is the culmination of a year-long program created by ISN and Korrio in early 2012.  The program was designed to recognize exemplary coaches from all over the country, providing them with the exposure and attention they truly deserve.

Ten coaches from seven states have already been honored by this program with more to be announced through the coming year.

“Korrio is proud to honor the ISN Coach of the Year,” Kristina O’Connell, VP of Marketing at Korrio, commented. “Positive role models inspire young athletes to be their best each and every day. Sports continue to shape young athletes into positive, confident and hard working adults. Korrio continues to transform youth sports by applying modern technology to run and manage clubs and associations more efficiently. This offers coaches better communication opportunities and more time on the field.”

The ISN Stars of Coaching program has already gotten off to a great start for 2013, naming Crew Juniors Director of Coaching & Player
Development James Field as the honoree for January.
