Home/U.S. Soccer Leagues/NPSL/Mederos Heads Back to Boca

San Diego Boca FC today announced that is has re-signed midfielder Christian Mederos to a one-year contract for the upcoming 2013 NPSL season. Mederos stands at 5’9″ and weighs 155 lbs. and is a graduate of Eastlake School.

“We are very excited to re-sign Christian Mederos to a one-year contract as Christian is an extremely talented center midfield player that we want to build the team around,” San Diego Boca FC CEO/President Yan Skwara stated. “He has great touch and is a local player that has groomed his skills here in San Diego. Last year, almost at the midpoint of our season, Christian had a opportunity to do a trial with Pumas de la UNAM of the Mexican First Division and was gone for basically the entire second half of our season so it was a big loss. Of course, Boca supported his career goals. Now that Christian has returned from playing in Mexico and is committed to San Diego and to Boca, we will have a full season to maximize his play and have him be a big part of what we think can be a special season.”

“I am excited to be back playing for Boca as we have a solid core of players returning from last year and some solid new players coming in,” Mederos commented. “I really feel that if we all work hard we can achieve a championship, but the commitment has to be there from the start and I am committed.”

“I am very pleased Christian is back with Boca for the upcoming season as he is a very big talent and if he plays his cards right he can play at higher levels in the future so this will be a great opportunity for him to showcase his skills and technique,” Head Coach Karim Ben Mazouk concluded.
